The New Mossberg 990 Heat Shield is a full length one piece Heat Shield designed to easily mate with the GG&G Mossberg 990 Tactical Forend. The Replacement Forend or Mossberg barrel does not need to be removed for the 990 Heat Shield to be installed. Please Note: The Front Sight Bead Will Not Be Usable When You Install The Heat Shield. The Heat Shield extends all the way back to the receiver and completely covers the top surface of the barrel. The 990 Heat Shield provides significant heat dissipation created during high round count shooting. The ergonomics of the GG&G 990 Heat Shield accommodates shooters that like to roll the shotgun over and reload from that position. Please note that the Mossberg Integrated Heat Shield cannot be installed without the New Mossberg 990 Tactical Forend being in place.
